Chelsea reach agreement to sign La Liga defender

Chelsea have moved a step closer to finalising the signing of Pep Chavarria after reaching an agreement with Rayo Vallecano, with the left-back now set for the next stage of the move. For a club that has often been associated with youth-focused investment in recent windows, this is a notable development. Chavarria arrives with maturity, senior experience and, crucially, the profile of a player expected to help immediately rather than develop over time.
