Anthony Gordon or Bradley Barcola: Which attacking starlet could top Arsenal’s summer wishlist?

Clinching their spot in the final of this season’s Champions League last week and claiming a hugely controversial 1-0 victory away at West Ham on Sunday, Arsenal are on the cusp of making major history.

Now within touching distance of getting their hands on a first Premier League crown since way back in 2004, Mikel Arteta’s side are reportedly planning another hectic summer behind the scenes.

Breaking the bank last summer following the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon in a deal worth £64million, it has been suggested that Arteta is keen on adding to his attacking options once again.

With continued speculation over the future of both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, German international Kai Havertz has also dealt with a string of injury issues this season.

While the Gunners might have their sights completely focused on securing a first domestic title in over two decades, the Emirates hierarchy are already putting together Arsenal’s summer preparations.

While Anthony Gordon might have returned to Eddie Howe’s travelling squad for Sunday’s 1-1 stalemate away at Nottingham Forest, the England international was left as an unused substitute and the 25-year-old appears destined to be at the heart of a major transfer saga this summer.

Although the former Everton starlet might have four years remaining on his current deal at St. James’ Park, he has reportedly made it clear to Newcastle that he is actively seeking a move away from Tyneside when the transfer window reopens.

Despite bagging 18 goals across all competitions this season and leading the chase for Newcastle’s Golden Boot, Howe has made his frustrations public and Sky Sports are reporting that the Magpies are willing to allow their lead goalscorer to permanently leave the club this summer.
