Devin Haney vs Shakur Stevenson weight, date and location revealed by Bill Haney

Bill Haney has revealed the proposed date, location and weight for a planned showdown between his son, Devin, and fellow pound-for-pound star Shakur Stevenson.

The two Americans are looking to collide later this year, with Stevenson seemingly willing to move up in weight after capturing the WBO 140lb strap in January.

He did so by dethroning Teofimo Lopez with a wide unanimous decision victory, becoming a four-division world champion before inking a promotional deal with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.

Since then, Stevenson has been linked to fights with WBA super-lightweight champion Gary Antuanne Russell and even Manny Pacquiao, but is now pursuing a welterweight clash with Haney.

‘The Dream’ has not fought since last November, when he dethroned Brian Norman Jr with a unanimous decision victory to become a three-weight world champion.

He was then supposed to make a mandatory defence of his WBO title, only for Keyshawn Davis to withdraw from their ordered contest following a purse bid hearing.

Now, though, Haney could be on the verge of entering an even bigger fight against Stevenson, who initially demanded the inclusion of a rehydration clause in their contract.

Speaking with Coach Malachi, however, Bill Haney suggested that Stevenson has now agreed to a catchweight of 145lbs, with no rehydration limit, and that the pair are likely to square off in Atlanta.

“145[lbs] is on for November 28. We’re getting ready. No more excuses … I’m not waiting for no f***ing announcement. I keep it real. We’re working towards this, and now we have an agreement.”

With Haney having signed an exclusive deal with DAZN, it remains to be seen whether Stevenson’s agreement with Zuffa will allow him to fight on the streaming platform.
