Vicario set for Inter switch, Spurs consider Trafford, Verbruggen as potential replacements

According to Teamtalk, Tottenham Hotspur will allow goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to join Inter Milan this summer, and they’ve already begun assessing their options regarding the role between the posts for next season.

Spurs apparently decided back in January they would allow Vicario to leave at the end of the season, and Inter seem to have won the race for his services ahead of Juventus, having already agreed personal terms with his representatives. The club-to-club talks to thrash out the details of the transfer are expected to start soon.

Meanwhile, the issue of who becomes the new No.1 at Spurs remains tied to their status in 2026-27. If they get relegated from the Premier League, De Zerbi is expected to place his trust in the current backup option, Antonin Kinsky. If, however, they manage to stay up, they will move for an established top-level goalkeeper, and they’ve set their sights on Manchester City’s James Trafford, or Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen.

With Brighton maintaining strong chances of qualifying for Europe next season, signing Verbruggen, their first-choice goalkeeper, may prove beyond the reach of Spurs at the moment. Trafford should, therefore, prove an easier target, being a backup option for Gianluigi Donnarumma at Manchester City.
