Three Chelsea stars set to miss final two games through injury

Chelsea’s season now comes down to pride, professionalism and the faintest flicker of European possibility. After defeat in the FA Cup final, a 1-0 loss to Manchester City at Wembley, the campaign will end without silverware. For a club of such ambition and investment, that carries a sting.

Now comes Tottenham, under the lights, in a London derby that still matters. Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for Europe remain slim, with Champions League football requiring victories, favours from Aston Villa and help elsewhere. It is an awkward equation, made harder by a squad still carrying too many injuries at the wrong time.

Chelsea Need Strong Finish After Wembley Pain

There was spirit in the cup final, even if there was no trophy. Chelsea competed with energy and discipline, but not enough incision. That has been a familiar theme, promise without the final touch, effort without reward.

Their remaining Premier League fixtures against Tottenham and Sunderland now carry heavy significance. Chelsea have not managed back to back league victories since early March, a statistic that tells its own story. To finish with authority, they need fit bodies, clearer decision making and a ruthless edge that has too often been missing.

There was some encouragement at Wembley. Robert Sanchez returned from injury to start, while Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho came off the bench in the second half, offering evidence of readiness before the Spurs fixture.

Estevao Recovery Plan Brings Clarity

Estevao’s season is over after tweaking his hamstring during the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United. The injury also rules him out of this summer’s World Cup, a damaging blow for player and club.

There is relief, however, that surgery is not currently planned. Chelsea and Estevao have reportedly agreed on a recovery programme, with the focus now firmly on long term care rather than unnecessary risk.
