Tearful teacher reveals major warning signs about Lindsay Clancy’s daughter just one day before murders: Live updates

She looked after the ‘Sunflower’ room – which Cora attended three days a week in the mornings.

Both Lindsay and Patrick Clancy dropped off Cora. She recalls seeing Patrick more but she shared the dropoff with the other preschool teacher.

Bertolo teared up as she described Cora as an ‘amazing’ and ‘wonderful’ preschool student who she was ready to go into kindergarten.

Cora’s preschool teacher teared up as she recalled the last day she saw Cora.

On the morning of January 23, 2023, Cora was dropped off at preschool.

That day, she needed to use the bathroom more than normal, Bertolo said. She noted that she was concerned, and told another teacher.

When she told Clancy at pickup, she said she had a doctor’s appointment for Cora the next day.

Dr Springer is looking at the autopsy photos from Callan’s autopsy and describing what she noted.

She said there are abrasions on his neck and hemorrhages on the face and under the skin.

The jury is being shown the images but the public gallery cannot see them.

Clancy is now sobbing loudly and uncontrollably at the defense table. She is making gasping, gulping sounds and her whole body is shaking.

Just before Christmas, he and his wife Sue went to visit the family in Duxbury. He knew that Clancy was having struggles around that time.

Her demeanor was ‘okay’ and ‘not terrible.’

Then, on Christmas morning 2022, they went for breakfast at the family-of-five’s home.

‘She was good. She looked beautiful,’ he said, saying she had a lovely dress on.’

They all went to church together.

Clancy ‘was quiet,’ he said. ‘She said that she liked the mass and was really happy that she went,’ he said.

He doesn’t remember seeing the children again after that day.

On Thanksgiving 2022, Clancy came to his daughter’s home for a family gathering.

When asked how she was that day, he thought about it for a moment and then said, ‘she seemed quiet.’

Clancy was very close to Patrick’s sisters and they wore matching shirts.

That day, she was getting a ‘little frustrated’ with Dawson because he was ‘being a little bit silly.’ ‘She took him by the arms to get him seated. It wasn’t anything crazy,’ he said.

Clancy is watching her former father-in-law attentively and calmly. Christopher is calm but appears to be somewhat uncomfortable.

Christopher Clancy is next on the stand. He is Patrick Clancy’s father and the grandfather of Cora, Dawson and Callan.

He said he first met Lindsay Clancy at his parents’ home. Later, the couple got married and had three children.

She was ‘very mothering’ and ‘very protective’ of Callan when he was born.

In March 2023 – two months after the killings – she visited Clancy at the rehab hospital she was in.

‘We made small talk. We played Uno. It was a pretty basic visit,’ she said.

Clancy asked her about her daughter, their friends and the hobbies Clancy was taking part in at the hospital.

At no point, did Clancy mention her children, their deaths, or break down in tears over their deaths.

Under cross-examination, Bevins said it was recommended that she should not bring up the children or the killings during the visit.

Bevins said that Clancy’s sister told her not to – and she believed it was a recommendation from mental health experts treating Clancy.

A few days before the children were killed, they were texting.

Clancy shared that she was taking a medication that was causing her to have some ‘dark thoughts’ but was coming off that medication and trying new drugs instead.

She didn’t tell her what the dark thoughts were.

Her tone was hopeful, she said.

She never said she was hearing voices or expressed intentions to hurt herself or the children.

The next witness to take the stand is Amy Bevins, Clancy’s longtime friend of 21 years.

She grew up with Clancy, first meeting her at elementary school in Connecticut where they both grew. They stayed close all through college and right up until the killings.

After the births of each of Clancy’s children, she said she didn’t notice any changes in her behavior or speech.

Under cross-examination, Clancy’s friend described her as a loving mother.

‘She loved her kids. She was warm, kind, consistent, loving,’ she said.

She also testified that Clancy had expressed having difficulties, especially with sleeping, to her.

But Clancy was not a complainer, she agreed.

Tears streamed down Clancy’s face as she listened to Decollibus say she was concerned about her.

Decollibus said she saw Clancy at Cora’s birthday party in January 2023. She did not notice anything different about her demeanor or behavior that day.

This was days after Clancy was discharged from her five-day stint at McLean Hospital – where she voluntarily admitted herself for psychiatric help.

That day, she asked Clancy about her sleep and she told her that ‘things haven’t got any better and that she feels like a zombie.’
