S Club 7’s Hannah Spearritt gives a glimpse at her off-grid living in Costa Rica as she says she is ‘building the dream’ after quitting fame in the UK

S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt shared a look at her off-grid life in Costa Rica with her two daughters after packing up and leaving her life in the UK.

The singer, 45, who found fame in the hugely popular nineties band, relocated following a ‘difficult year’ as she now hopes to ‘build the dream’ by living off the land.

Since making the move at the beginning of last year, Hannah has shared several updates on her Instagram page of her family’s new way of living.

Hannah moved from south west London with her long-term partner Adam Thomas and their two daughters, Téa, seven, and Tora, five.

On Monday, Hannah shared a clip of herself and her children hanging out in a garden, listening to music around a fire pit with incredible views of mountains.

Hannah, who shook her blonde hair while dancing to the music, showed off her athletic frame in an orange sports bra and grey sweat shorts.

‘All ya need is love da da da daaa! Natural and surrounded by beautiful and positive people and gradually building the dream’.

She also revealed she enjoys 6am discos on her balcony with her daughters and socialising with friends, having BBQs and family dinners.

Hannah quit the UK for a new life and admitted the relocation has ‘really helped her recover from a challenging year’.

Hannah was plunged into grief after the tragic death of her former bandmate and ex-partner Paul Cattermole in 2023, which led to her decision to also quit the band.

Paul’s death came just months after Hannah struggled through a period of homelessness after she revealed she had spent six months living in multiple temporary homes with her family.

The star and her family were forced to hop between four temporary homes in the latter half of 2022 and even had to sleep in a friend’s office after being forced out by a landlord.

Speaking to The Sun, Hannah revealed their landlord left them with two days to find a new place after he sold the property very fast.

She explained at the time: ‘What screwed us is we didn’t have time to find another place. We had somewhere over Christmas but ran out of time before we could move in. It was just a couple of weeks.

‘We were allowed to stay in our friend’s office. We just used it as our living room. It was extra space. It was stressful but you deal with it, don’t you? Especially with the kids.”

Debunking the myth that all popstars are rich she added: ‘People think we must all be millionaires but sadly it’s just not true. It was what it was and we enjoyed ourselves at the time.’

Since the period of instability, Hannah and Adam are believed to have chosen Costa Rica to settle after enjoying a trip to the stunning location in 2018.

The visit originally inspired them to set up a café in Twickenham in 2022. However, the café was never ready to open fully and a friend told The Sun last year that they were selling up amid rising costs.

The source said: ‘It’s the latest in a sequence of setbacks. The new plan is selling up and moving to Costa Rica to live off the land.’

Meanwhile Hannah, who has suffered from an autoimmune condition since 2013, had been set to join her former band on their comeback tour but pulled out following a feud over contracts.

Following the row, the other members – Rachel Stevens, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett – announced that they would continue as a five-piece.

Hannah was said to have been blindsided by the S Club announcement, with her being left on bad terms with the band in which she rose to fame in the early 2000s.

She then reportedly drafted in lawyers and made the bold move to release her autobiography on the same day the band would have taken to the stage.

Before Paul’s death, all seven members of the chart-topping band initially confirmed they were reuniting for a landmark 25th anniversary tour.

Hannah initially refused to join the line-up, citing a lack of childcare and only agreed to join when music manager Simon Fuller offered to pay for nannies to come along.

Two months later, band member Paul died, Hannah then accepted a five-figure sum to tell her story, which left a bitter taste in the remaining band member’s mouths.

The Dancing On Ice star apologised to S Club’s fans for deciding to leave but said she had to do what was best for herself and her family.

Hannah claimed she hadn’t been in touch with her former bandmates since she left the band, admitting she was sad not to be involved but insisted she wished them ‘all the best’.

And now her dreams of a new life have come true, with the family enjoying morning waterfall walks and an outdoor playground as part of their daily lives.

In January she revealed they had moved as she shared a snap at the dinner table of their new house with their daughters.
