With only a week to go before the transfer window comes to a close this summer, Manchester United’s squad revamp is not over as Michael Carrick is believed to be interested in the addition of a left back and forward, with Carlos Baleba on his way too.
Graeme Bailey has reported that the Red Devils are fishing within the Premier League and have identified Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr as a potential new addition with the Eagles ready to sell him this summer.
According to the journalist, Sarr is valued by Palace at £50 million, a transfer fee which sounds reasonable for a player of the Senegalese international’s quality and experience in English football, as well as the versatility he offers on the pitch.
Naturally a right winger, Sarr is capable of playing on the left flank as well as a number 10. With United looking for consistent goal contributors, the 28-year-old’s profile is a good fit for them with a transfer on the cards this month.
Brilliant acquisition for Man United
Ismaila Sarr would be a brilliant signing for Manchester United this summer. His ability to dribble past defenders, exploit space in behind the opposition and strong work rate with and without the ball make him the perfect modern-day attacker.
Sarr was in top form for Crystal Palace last season with 21 goals in all competitions and scored four for Senegal at the World Cup too. His positioning up top, ability to get into scoring positions and finishing would make him a key player at Old Trafford.
Compared to Amad Diallo, who has been United’s primary choice on the right wing for much of the last six months, Sarr can produce better numbers and plays a more direct style of football, which makes him dynamic and volatile in the final third.
Given that Man United are playing in the Champions League this season, personal terms between them and Sarr may not be a huge problem, whereas they can also play him regularly if he displays the level of form he did in 2025/26.
It will be interesting to see if they are ready to match his £50 million price tag, however, or will prioritise a new left back’s purchase…..
