Man Utd urged to sign Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson

Former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune has urged his old club to sign Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson.

The Red Devils currently have Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee as specialist striker options. However, Sesko has been out injured for several months, while Zirkzee has struggled to find his feet in the Premier League since joining from Bologna.

The Dutchman has been linked with a move back to Italy, and it has been reported that Michael Carrick’s side have been exploring options to strengthen the No.9 position.

Now, on The Sun (via TEAMtalk), Fortune states that United need to upgrade the frontline this summer to achieve success in the Premier League and Champions League next season as Sesko is still very young.

Jackson might be a shrewd acquisition for the Old Trafford club if they were to purchase him, as he is an ‘out-and-out’ No.9.

Fortune said:

“United need another striker, and if you are pushing for the Premier League and playing in the Champions League, you need a bigger squad. Nicolas Jackson is an option for Manchester United.

“He’s just an out-an-out striker. He doesn’t really care about anything else apart from getting into the box and getting on the end of whatever service he’s provided, and there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s still the hardest part of the game.”

Jackson to Man Utd

After joining Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, the 25-year-old showed glimpses of his qualities in his debut Premier League campaign, making 23 goal contributions across all competitions.

During the 2024/25 season, he helped Chelsea win the Club World Cup and Conference League. Still, the Blues decided to part ways with him last summer, and he joined Bayern Munich on loan.

However, he mainly featured as a rotational option at the Allianz Arena last term, and Bayern Munich opted not to purchase him permanently this summer.

With Jackson’s existing deal set to run until 2033, Chelsea are in a strong position to demand a big fee to sell him and want around £65m.

He is a talented player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. However, he hasn’t been able to showcase his best in the Premier League…
