Man United star ready to leave with personal terms already agreed

Barcelona are exploring ways to keep Marcus Rashford after Hansi Flick made clear he wants the forward to remain part of his squad, according to Sport.

The report states: “Barça are already working to try to retain Marcus Rashford after Hansi Flick’s request to give continuity to the Englishman in the project.”

Rashford had previously looked unlikely to stay because of the financial package involved, but Barcelona’s search for younger alternatives has not convinced Flick. The German coach is said to be “very happy with Rashford and Lewandowski”, with Rashford viewed as a serious squad option rather than an automatic starter.

Salary Agreement Opens Door

A key development is Rashford’s willingness to adapt his salary demands. Sport reports that “the footballer has made it easier to fit his millionaire salary into the Blaugrana salary limit.”

That matters. Barcelona’s financial restrictions remain tight, so Rashford agreeing to a longer contract, spreading payments and forgiving part of his salary gives the club room to work.

United Hold Firm on Fee

Manchester United’s stance remains clear. Sport claims United “does not accept either the reduction of the transfer, or extend his loan as he wants to end his relationship with Rashford definitively.”

The agreed purchase option is €30million, payable over three years. Barcelona want a more favourable structure, but United believe that fee is already below market value.

Rashford Deal Depends on Formula

This now feels less about desire and more about mechanics. Barcelona want Rashford, Rashford appears open to staying, and Flick values him. The obstacle is United’s refusal to soften terms.

Unless Barça find a creative formula, United may push Rashford towards other offers. For now, this is a deal with footballing logic, but financial friction.
