Man United eye move for Leeds United star Ao Tanaka

Manchester United are interested in signing Leeds United midfielder Ao Tanaka at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old Japanese International has done quite well in the Premier League, but he has not been a regular starter for Leeds United this season. He could be open to leaving the club in order to play regularly next season, and he would prefer to stay in the Premier League, according to TEAMtalk.

The midfielder impressed with a tenacious display against Manchester United recently, when Leeds United beat them at Old Trafford, and Michael Carrick was impressed. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United come forward with an official offer to sign him in the summer.

The 27-year-old could be a very useful player for the Red Devils. They need a quality defensive midfielder, especially following Casemiro’s departure. They will also need to replace Manuel Ugarte in the summer. The Uruguayan International has not been able to live up to expectations.

Even if Manchester United decide to invest in a quality defensive midfielder in the summer, a move for Tanaka would be ideal. He will add depth and quality in the middle of the park. The opportunity to play for Manchester United will be hard to turn down for him. It would be a major step up for him at this stage of his career.

Newcastle United and Everton are interested in the Leeds United star as well, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. Leads will hope to recall as much as possible from his departure, and they will hope for a bidding war in the summer.
