Lyon winger Malick Fofana has been offered to Arsenal through his representatives, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.
Lyon recently suffered a financial setback as they failed to qualify for the Champions League via the play-offs. They lost out to Fenerbahce by a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.
As a result, the French outfit are set for a significant loss in revenue and they are expected to make up for it with a high-profile departure before the transfer window closes.
Fofana is the likely player to be sold, and Aouna claims that the Belgian is eyeing a high-profile club after snubbing the opportunity to join Premier League newcomers Hull City.
The journalist adds that Sunderland are likewise interested in him, while his agents have offered his services to several clubs and that includes English champions Arsenal.
Good talent
The 21-year-old joined Les Gones from Gent two years ago and had a good debut season, scoring 10 goals and providing 7 assists.
He could not replicate the feat last campaign due to a long-term ankle injury and managed less than 1,000 minutes in all competitions.
The Belgian has stayed fit so far this season with two goals in six appearances and could now pursue a new challenge away from Lyon.
Hull verbally agreed to sign him from Lyon, but Fofana has made it clear that he wants to join a club with higher stature.
Arsenal have been offered his services by his entourage and it is left to be seen whether they make an approach for him.
