Liverpool reportedly remain interested in signing Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise, as per German football expert Christian Falk.
After being impressed by the 24-year-old’s performances for Crystal Palace, the Bavarian club decided to purchase him a couple of years ago.
He took no time to settle into his new surroundings as he made 40 goal contributions across all competitions during his debut campaign.
Olise took his game to another level last campaign, scoring 22 goals and registering 26 assists in 52 appearances in all tournaments. The Frenchman has won two Bundesliga titles and a few domestic cup competitions at the Allianz Arena in recent years.
Having proven his worth in club football, the forward has established himself as an undisputed starter in France’s star-studded starting line-up.
Now, on FC Bayern Insider, Falk reports that despite purchasing Bradley Barcola this summer, Liverpool remain keen on buying a new right-winger as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
The Reds expressed their interest in Olise this summer, but the Bavarian club refused to let him leave. Still, they haven’t given up hope of securing his services.
Olise to Liverpool
The journalist claims that apart from the Merseyside club, Real Madrid were also interested in the Frenchman before signing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. However, if Olise becomes available, they are ready to revive their interest.
With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029, Bayern Munich aren’t entertaining the thought of selling him and are planning to tie him down to a fresh long-term contract. They could even include a release clause in his new deal.
Liverpool have showcased their financial power in recent years, signing Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Bradley Barcola for more than £100m. So, they would be able to arrange a financial package to sign Olise from Bayern Munich if they opt to let him leave.
Olise is a left-footed right-winger but can provide cover in the CAM role if needed. He is familiar with the Premier League’s physicality, having previously played for Crystal Palace.
