Brighton & Hove Albion have made a strong start to the Premier League season with three wins in their first five outings, as they sit in third place in the standings. Fabian Hurzeler’s side has already trumped Arsenal convincingly amongst other results.
One of their standout players this season has been former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luka Vuskovic and as per Ekrem Konur, Liverpool and Manchester United are both pondering over swoops on the Seagulls for the Croatian next year.
Vuskovic is valued at £51 million by Brighton, as per the journalist, but it could take a massive offer for any interested party to convince the selling club as the defender has a contract at the Amex Stadium until June 2031 and is a key part of their future.
Liverpool may hold upper hand for Vuskovic
After spending a decent amount of money in rebuilding their midfield and offence, Manchester United are set to shift focus towards rebuilding their defence. However, Liverpool may hold the upper hand over them in a bid to sign Luka Vuskovic.
With Virgil van Dijk expected to leave the club sooner rather than later having been considerably past his best lately, the Reds need a capable defender and the Brighton & Hove Albion star promises to be the ideal long-term replacement.
Vuskovic, 19, reads the game intelligently to make interceptions and tackles, has a strong aerial prowess with a height of six feet four inches and is comfortable on the ball. He plays composed passes out from the back and is an asset in offensive set-pieces.
Liverpool will be able to provide him with regular game time, possibly setting up a long-term pairing that could see Luka Vuscovic partner with Jeremy Jacquet. Whether Manchester United can guarantee him a key role is debatable.
Given that they already have Ayden Heaven, Lisandro Martinez and Leny Yoro, alongside the more experienced Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt, Vuskovic risks playing very limited minutes if he favours joining the Red Devils over the Reds.
It will be interesting to see if there are any other clubs in the picture for the Brighton defender but all things point towards Liverpool being in an advantageous position for…
