Leeds have earned the right to feel optimistic after finishing 14th on their Premier League return, but Daniel Farke knows how quickly progress can disappear at Elland Road.
Leeds United have spent much of the past two years giving their supporters reasons to believe again. Promotion with 100 points was followed by a 14th-place Premier League finish, with just five defeats across the final 25 league matches turning survival into something far more convincing than a last-day escape. The challenge now is to ensure that one good top-flight season becomes the foundation for another.
Elland Road Is Part of the Plan
Home form played an important part in keeping Leeds away from trouble last season, and Elland Road should remain one of Farke’s biggest advantages. The club is also preparing the ground itself for a different future, with redevelopment work underway and plans approved to increase capacity to 53,000. That ambition carries extra significance when Leeds’ Premier League status is still relatively new.

SeatPick, a ticket search engine that compares listings from partner marketplaces, records Elland Road’s current 37,645 capacity as the 11th largest among the 20 grounds listed in its premier league tickets data. A completed expansion to 53,000 would put Leeds in very different company, but there is a footballing requirement behind those plans as well as a construction project. Staying in the division would allow a bigger Elland Road to open its doors to a club established in the Premier League rather than one trying to find its way back.
