Jack Grealish slumps over a bar table as he downs champagne and splashes out on vodka on a boozy day out with female friends – while his old England team-mates prepare for historic World Cup semi-final

Jack Grealish was spotted downing champagne with female friends in a sun-soaked Manchester beer garden hours ahead of England‘s clash with Norway.

The 30-year-old, who is recovering from a stress fracture in his foot, was pictured enjoying the off-season at the city’s plush Dukes 92 restaurant on Saturday afternoon.

Clad in all-white, Grealish didn’t have a care in the world as he necked a £75 bottle of champagne while enjoying the sunshine beating down on the busy bar.

The Manchester City star later ordered a bottle of Grey Goose vodka, and was seen downing shots to the amusement of the women sat with him.

But the drinks later appeared to have taken their toll, as the footballer seemed to be on the verge of falling asleep while laying slumped in his chair.

Grealish, who made 22 appearances on loan at Everton last season, hasn’t played for England in almost two years since he earned a surprise recall under Lee Carsley in October 2024.

The £100million winger is however still supporting the Three Lions on their quest to end 60 years of hurt, and has regularly shared snaps from his living room showing their games across the pond on the television.

After moving to Merseyside in a bid to reignite his career, Grealish’s time with the Toffees got off to the perfect start as he notched two goals and six assists during the early months of the season.

But it was in January that the attacker suffered a stress fracture which would require surgery during a game against his former club Aston Villa.

The injury marked the end of Grealish’s season – and thereby killed his World Cup hopes – in a blow which he admitted was ‘difficult’ to deal with.

‘As a footballer it’s always difficult being injured,’ he said in April. ‘I came to the Merseyside derby game and it got me a bit emotional, because it’s something I miss doing so much.

‘I can’t thank Everton enough for the way they’ve been with me since I’ve been injured – they’ve been brilliant. From the staff, to the players, to the manager.’

Grealish had earned himself the status of something of a cult hero at Hill Dickinson, but his future is now uncertain ahead of next season.

The Birmingham-born midfielder is nevertheless enjoying his time off as he looks to return to full fitness. Earlier this summer, he and his girlfriend Sasha Attwood jetted off for a lavish family holiday to Barbados with their 19-month-old daughter Mila.

The family, who are understood to live in the footballer-friendly area of Cheshire, stayed at the luxury five-star Sandy Lane Hotel during their week-long stay in the Caribbean.

The couple shared a series of snaps from their trip, with one showing Grealish and Attwood beaming with Mila during a wholesome family outing.

The father-of-one will no doubt be watching on from afar tomorrow as England face Argentina for a place in the most coveted game of them all, the World Cup final.

Thomas Tuchel’s men have enjoyed a successful tournament thus far and are yet to be beaten.

They booked their place in Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final with a 2-1 win over Erling Haaland’s Norway in the sweltering heats of Miami.

Jude Bellingham was the star for the Three Lions on the day, netting twice – the second coming in extra-time – to secure his country the win.

But the Real Madrid star was also at the centre of controversy at the final whistle when he was asked to respond to comments made by his manager moments earlier.

The German branded his players ‘lucky’ in the wake of the victory, arguing it was merely the team’s mentality which pulled them through against Haaland, Martin Odegaard and Co.

‘Maybe he doesn’t know what it’s like to play in those kind of conditions against Erling Haaland, (Martin) Odegaard, (Antonio) Nusa, (Alexander) Sorloth. That’s not an easy team to play against.

‘I think we’ve tried to create a positive environment and we should continue that going into the final four. I couldn’t speak highly enough of the lads. You’re not going to win every game popping the ball and making a thousand passes, sometimes you have to win dirty and we did that again tonight.’

The clash with Argentina will mark the first time the two nations have faced each other in some 21 years – and will see Lionel Messi play England for the first time in his career.
