Dave Allen sums up Johnny Fisher’s chances of beating Dillian Whyte as fight ‘agreed in principle’

Dillian Whyte looks set to return to action on a Zuffa Boxing card, as rumours of a showdown with fan-favourite heavyweight Johnny Fisher pick up further momentum. Now, Dave Allen, who has faced both men, has offered his thoughts on the potential all-British affair.

Whyte dealt Allen the first loss of his career back in 2016. Fast forward to recent times, and Allen avenged a controversial defeat to Fisher in 2025 when he knocked his fellow Brit out and derailed his career.

Since then, Fisher has returned to winning ways with a stoppage of Ivan Balaz in Monaco, before announcing a move to Zuffa Boxing.

This past weekend, Fisher was victorious on his debut with Dana White’s promotional outfit, scoring a majority-decision triumph over Belgium’s Michael Pirotton as he topped a well-matched bill at the CopperBox Arena in London.

Shortly afterwards, Dillian Whyte’s manager Michael Ofo told Sky Sports that a fight between the former world title challenger and Fisher has been ‘agreed in principle’.

“The fight was agreed in principle following Fisher’s win on Saturday night with a handshake between me and Fisher’s manager, Adam Morallee,”

“I was unsure whether Fisher and his management would take the fight, in spite of Fisher having called Dillian out, so I called Adam over and asked him. He immediately responded: ‘Absolutely. Let’s do it next!’”

In response, Allen took to his YouTube channel to rubbish claims that Whyte is completely over the hill, despite ‘The Body Snatcher’s’ opening-round defeat to Moses Itauma last time out, insinuating that he believes the veteran would come out on top against Fisher.

“People say ‘oh, well Dillian Whyte is 30-odd, the Itauma fight…’. Dillian Whyte has got a good jab, he is tough as f**k and he has been the rounds. I wouldn’t like that fight for him [Fisher].”

Fisher has also been mentioned for a potential clash with former WBC heavyweight world champion, Deontay Wilder. Although, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ instead seems poised to be the opponent for Oleksandr Usyk’s ‘farewell fight’.
