Palace’s record list has entered a new era
Crystal Palace have traditionally been careful operators in the transfer market. 1. Jørgen Strand Larsen, Wolverhampton Wanderers: around £48m
Jørgen Strand Larsen is Crystal Palace’s record signing after joining from Wolves for around £48m.
It was a massive statement from the club. Palace have often relied on smart attacking development rather than record-breaking striker purchases, but Strand Larsen changed that. The Norwegian forward arrived to give Palace a proper focal point: tall, physical, technically capable and proven in the Premier League.
At that price, the expectation is clear. Palace did not sign him to rotate. They signed him to lead the line, score goals and give the team a reliable attacking presence in the biggest matches.
2. Brennan Johnson, Tottenham Hotspur: around £34m
Brennan Johnson joined Crystal Palace from Tottenham in a deal worth around £34m.
The Welsh forward brought pace, directness and Premier League experience. Palace have long valued wide attackers who can carry the ball and unsettle defenders, and Johnson fits that tradition well.
His signing makes sense in the post-Eze era. Palace needed fresh attacking thrust and a player who could stretch the pitch. Johnson gives them transition speed, movement and the ability to play across the front line.
