Chelsea’s search for another young defensive talent may soon gather momentum, with TeamTalk reporting that Jacobo Ramon’s future will be decided during talks between Real Madrid and Como later this week.
The 20 year old centre back has emerged as one of Europe’s most promising defenders after an outstanding campaign in Serie A, and Chelsea have reportedly placed themselves in a strong position should Real Madrid decline the opportunity to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

For Chelsea, this represents another example of a recruitment strategy built around identifying elite young players before their value rises even further. Ramon fits that profile perfectly, although the final decision currently rests with Real Madrid.
Como Success Raises Stock
Few players have enhanced their reputation as dramatically over the past year.
After joining Como from Real Madrid for less than €3million, Ramon quickly became a cornerstone of Cesc Fabregas’ side. His contribution extended beyond defensive solidity, with 32 Serie A appearances, two goals and an impressive 14 clean sheets helping Como secure Champions League qualification.
That rapid development has left Real Madrid in an enviable position. Their original agreement reportedly included a 50 per cent sell on clause alongside a buy back option that remains significantly below Ramon’s current market value.

Those clauses have given the Spanish giants considerable influence over the next phase of the defender’s career.
