Chelsea have entered the race to sign highly rated Gambian wonderkid Adama Jeng, according to Football Insider.
Jeng is a product of Gambia’s prestigious Samger FC youth setup, an academy that has also produced several of Gambia’s finest players. Among them are Sulayman Marreh, who later represented Watford, and Musa Ann, whose displays have attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Manchester United.
His performances for Gambia’s Under-17 side at the recently concluded WAFU Zone A U-17 tournament in Senegal then brought him considerable attention.
Jeng was among the standout players throughout the competition and played a key role as his country progressed to the final in Dakar, with his performances drawing interest.
One of the clubs showing interest in Jeng is Chelsea, according to Football Insider, which claims that the West Londoners have entered the race to sign the exciting forward.
Having been impressed by his performances at the WAFU tournament, the Blues view the youngster as a future star and are ready to launch a swoop to sign him, according to the report.

However, Chelsea are set to face stern competition, with the report adding that European giants Bayern Munich as well as Benfica, Sporting CP and Paris FC are also keeping tabs on Jeng ahead of a potential transfer.
Since Clearlake’s takeover of Chelsea in May 2023, the Blues have shaped their transfer strategy around identifying and securing some of the most promising young talents in South America and Europe.
Their recruitment activity in Africa, however, has been relatively limited, prompting BlueCo to appoint Achirou Gaoh and Seyi Olofinjana to oversee scouting operations across the continent.
That shift has already seen Chelsea reportedly hold trials for several young players, including Hafiz Umar, who was with Nigerian league side Ojodu City at the time and now plays for Stade Reims. Cape Town City’s Emile Witbooi has also been given a trial, as has Nigerian Golden Eaglets striker Victor Divine Emmanuel, who joined BlueCo’s sister club Strasbourg in the summer of 2025.
