Arsenal are plotting a swoop to sign Borussia Dortmund centre-forward Maximilian Beier, according to TEAMtalk.
The youngster has cemented himself as one of the most exciting attacking prospects from Germany in recent years.
Beier spent short periods with German lower-league clubs Brandenburger SC Süd and Energie Cottbus before entering the TSG Hoffenheim academy at 15, where he progressed through every age group.
His performances at the youth level earned him a Bundesliga debut on February 8, 2020, when Hoffenheim suffered a 1-0 defeat to Freiburg. He went on to make 46 senior appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals in the process.
A two-year loan spell at Hannover followed, with Beir finding the net 15 times before Dortmund completed his permanent signing in the summer of 2024.
Since joining Dortmund, he has recorded double figures for goal contributions, producing 10 goals and six assists in 2024/25 before improving that tally to 10 goals and 10 assists in 2025/26.
Beir, valued at £34m by Transfermarkt, has continued that form this season, playing an important role in Nico Kovac’s side’s perfect start to both the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League campaigns, where he has provided four goal contributions.
Now, according to TEAMtalk, Arsenal have expressed interest in signing Beir as they assess several options for their attack.
Beier to Arsenal
In the summer transfer window, Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez was the Gunners’ primary centre-forward target, but a move failed to materialise, as the Argentine preferred joining Barcelona, as per the report.
This has led the North Londoners to explore several alternatives, with TEAMtalk adding that the club’s scouts have been impressed by Beier’s displays over the last 12 months and have placed him on their radar ahead of a possible transfer.
Arsenal believe the 23-year-old is a perfect fit for English football, with his playing style drawing comparisons with German teammate Kai Havertz, according to the report.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side face stern competition from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the 6ft 1in centre-forward, TEAMtalk adds.
