Arsenal could face another major attacking decision before the summer transfer window closes, with Galatasaray making an approach over Gabriel Martinelli.
The Brazilian’s future has become more uncertain following Arsenal’s latest recruitment.
Mikel Arteta has added Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34 million after Leandro Trossard joined Besiktas, increasing competition on the left side of the attack.
Martinelli also scored only one Premier League goal last season despite finishing with 11 in all competitions, meaning his position is no longer as secure as it once appeared.
Arteta’s plans for Gabriel Martinelli revealed
According to Football.London, Galatasaray have approached Arsenal regarding a possible deal for Martinelli.
However, the Gunners currently view the 25-year-old as part of Arteta’s plans and are unlikely to approve his departure without first signing another marquee attacker.
Arsenal’s previous pursuit of Vinicius Junior reportedly alerted other clubs to the possibility that Martinelli could become available.
Tzolis’ arrival has also increased the pressure on him, with the Greek international already impressing during pre-season.
Galatasaray’s interest appears genuine rather than speculative. talkSPORT reports that the Turkish champions turned towards Martinelli after making limited progress in their pursuit of AC Milan winger Rafael Leão.
