Christopher Nkunku is set to return to Leipzig where it all started for him, after some disappointing years.

The transfer window is hotting up, and there’s some action in Milan right now.
Ruben Amorim’s revolution continues, and lots of key players are being shown the door. The new coach has figured out who he wants and who he doesn’t want – and it seems Christopher Nkunku falls into the latter category.
The latest reports from German football insider Florian Plettenberg claim that Nkunku is ready to move back to RB Leipzig after some disappointing moves to Chelsea and then Serie A didn’t work out.
An injury at the start of his first season with the Blues killed his momentum there, and he’s never been able to recover it.
Leipzig are in negotiations with Milan over a loan deal for the season, with an option to buy. There is not yet any more information about the fee or the conditions of the option.
Nkunku’s career comes full circle after a few sad years
In a way, it would be a real shame for Nkunku. He’s such a talented player, who showed so much promise early in his career. To end up back where he started, at a Bundesliga team who are never going to compete for the top prizes, is a little disappointing given the levels it felt like he could get to.
On the other hand, given the way things have gone over the last few years, perhaps it really is best for him to just go back to where he’s comfortable, enjoy his football, and get back to his best.
