Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly not looking for a return to former loan club Aston Villa this summer.
The England international is facing an uncertain situation as his current loan spell with Barcelona is set to come to an end, with no clear idea yet about where he’ll be playing next season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Rashford’s former manager Unai Emery is keen to work with him at Villa again, though TEAMtalk state that that’s not the 28-year-old’s current plan.
It will be interesting to see how this develops, but if it were up to Rashford himself then it seems he would ideally like to make his stay at the Nou Camp permanent.

If Barcelona decide not to keep Rashford, despite his fine form during his loan spell this season, then there would probably be a fair few Man United fans who’d welcome him back.
At the same time, however, it’s worth remembering that things didn’t end well for Rashford at Old Trafford, with the player seeming like he clearly needed a change of scene.
Rashford did well during his brief loan at Villa, so it also makes sense that Emery is keen for a reunion, but Barca are a huge name, so have more appeal.

The Catalan giants have just won La Liga, and will often be contenders for the Champions League, even if not quite one of the main favourites, so that’s the kind of level Rashford will feel he can still thrive in.
