According to The Times, Borussia Dortmund are interested in bringing Jadon Sancho back for what would be his third spell at the club. They are confident that they’ll be able to persuade the winger to accept the transfer and come as a free agent, with both his loan at Aston Villa and contract with Manchester United expiring at the end of this season.
It will, however, mean that Sancho would have to agree to a significantly lower salary, given that the five-year contract he signed with United back in 2021 has him earning around £300,000 per week.
Sancho, who will turn 26 later this month, emerged as one of the brightest talents in the game after joining Dortmund in from the Manchester City academy in 2017, but his impact at United was nowhere near the levels expected, and he has had loan spells first back at Dortmund, and then Chelsea, before joining Aston Villa for the 2025-26 campaign.
Counting both spells, he has 53 goals and 67 assists to his name in 158 matches for Dortmund across all competitions.
