Chelsea are reportedly planning to make a move to sign Liverpool and Arsenal target Alex Scott, as per TEAMtalk.
Having endured a dire campaign last term, the Blues decided to appoint Xabi Alonso as the new manager this summer. However, Chelsea have displayed inconsistent performances under the Spanish boss thus far this season.
The West London club are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 13 points from eight games, losing three. They have even conceded 15 goals.
So, it appears Chelsea are planning to reinforce the squad this winter to continue the rebuild under Alonso’s guidance. TEAMtalk claim that Chelsea are interested in strengthening the midfield by signing Scott from AFC Bournemouth.
The Blues initially wanted to buy the 23-year-old this summer, but the Cherries refused to let him leave. However, with the player’s existing deal set to run until 2028, Bournemouth might be open to letting him leave in January if they receive a lucrative proposal worth around £100m.
The report state that Marco Rose’s side’s asking price won’t be the only obstacle for Chelsea to seal the deal as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are also in this race.
The Gunners and Spurs have already held talks over a potential transfer, while Andoni Iraola is hugely keen on reuniting with his former colleague at Anfield.

TEAMtalk also state that Bournemouth are keen on keeping hold of him by tying him down to a fresh long-term contract with a salary hike. However, Scott has already turned down new deal proposals.
Despite selling Curtis Jones, Liverpool decided not to buy a new midfielder this summer. So, they are seemingly planning to strengthen the engine room next year.
On the other hand, following Bruno Guimaraes’ arrival, Arsenal are currently well-stocked in the middle of the park. So, they don’t need to invest more to add further depth to this position.
Scott has shown glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League in recent years and has secured his place in the England national team. So, the 23-year-old might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool should any of those clubs purchase him next…
