What the bookies currently expect from the 2026/27 Premier League season

Odds move quickly, especially before the transfer window closes, so treat this as a market snapshot rather than betting advice. The latest prices found were updated on 29 July 2026 for title/relegation/top scorer markets and 24 July 2026 for some top-four comparisons.

Arsenal are the team to beat

The bookmakers’ view is clear: Arsenal begin the 2026/27 Premier League season as favourites to retain the title. The Gunners are at 6/4 in the title market.

That pricing reflects both Arsenal’s recent consistency and the market’s belief that they are now the division’s benchmark. The context matters: Arsenal are coming off their first league title in 22 years, and they finished seven points clear of Manchester City last season, which explains why the bookies have installed them as the side everyone else has to catch.

Manchester City remain the main danger

Manchester City are still positioned as Arsenal’s closest challengers, priced at around 11/4.

The interesting wrinkle is that City are entering a new era after Pep Guardiola’s departure, with BettingOdds reporting Enzo Maresca as his replacement. That uncertainty appears to be enough to keep City behind Arsenal, but not enough to push them out of the front two in the market.

The chasing pack: Liverpool, United and Chelsea

Behind Arsenal and City, the market sees a second tier of contenders. Liverpool at 5/1 to 7/1, Manchester United at around 6/1 to 13/2, and Chelsea at around 7/1 to 10/1.

Liverpool and Chelsea both carry managerial-change intrigue, with Andoni Iraola at Liverpool and Xabi Alonso at Chelsea, while Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all have new managers ahead of the season.

Chelsea may be the most interesting of the “almost contenders” because the title odds remain longer than the top-four odds. Chelsea could benefit from having no European football, while Oddspedia has them at 10/11 for a top-four finish, implying the market sees Champions League qualification as much more realistic than a title push.
