Wolverhampton Wanderers pulled off an incredible 3-0 victory today over a Liverpool side who are in disarray this season, and Julen Lopetegui appears to have given the Old Gold back their fighting spirit.

The Molineux outfit grabbed the opener via an early own goal from Joel Matip and were soon 2-0 ahead following a debut goal from January signing Craig Dawson, and it was an advantage that they wouldn’t relinquish.

The second half saw the Reds dominate possession and record 14 shots to the home team’s five, but they couldn’t find a way through a stubborn Wolves defence who have now kept a third clean sheet in ten games under their current manager.

Captain Ruben Neves added the icing on the cake by scoring his team’s third goal with 20 minutes left, and the result moves them out of the relegation zone.

Reporter Steve Madeley was full of praise for Neves before the half-time whistle went, tweeting: “So many great displays from Wolves in the first 34 minutes but Ruben Neves surely the best player on the pitch again. Superb in and out of…
