West Ham United once again slipped to a lacklustre defeat in the Premier League this afternoon, with the Hammers second-best in a hugely disappointing 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Despite the Irons having secured an impressive 1-0 away win over Brentford in the FA Cup last weekend, it was unfortunately normal service resumed in the league, with Daniel Podence’s strike early in the second half being enough to seal all three points for the home side.
The result now means David Moyes finds his team down in 18th place in the Premier League standings, with West Ham having recorded just four wins all season, the most recent of these having come all the way back in October.
While all but Declan Rice were below par on Saturday – with Michail Antonio particularly poor up top – it was once again Tomas Soucek who was the worst of a bad bunch, with the 27-year-old looking a shadow of his former self at Molineux.

Indeed, over his 60 minutes on the pitch, the £40m-rated midfielder offered his team next to nothing going forwards, enjoying just 22 touches of the ball – two fewer than Lukasz Fabianski in goal – completing just eight of his 12 attempted passes – at a success rate of a mere 67% – and losing possession eight times – meaning he gave the ball away with every 2.75 touches he had.
The £65k-per-week passenger also failed with his one attempted dribble, made no key passes, failed to make a single tackle and could not find his man with either of his two attempted crosses – with these metrics seeing the Czech Republic international earn a bitterly disappointing Sofascore match rating of just 6.7 for his efforts on the day.
