As the end of the winter transfer window approaches, Karl Toko Ekambi is moving away from Olympique Lyonnais. The Cameroonian is close to Stade Rennes, even if nothing has been done yet.
Radio guest RMCBruno Genesio, the Rennes coach, openly courtier of Karl Toko Ekambi, listed the qualities of the Cameroonian, taken in dislike by OL supporters: “He is one of the players we targeted. It fills in a lot of boxes that correspond to what we are looking for. He is a player who knows Ligue 1 and has experience. He is able to play on the side, he is able to play in the axis, he is able to play in several systems. I know he has had a difficult time in Lyon, I know the context and I tell myself that in a more reassuring context and where he will be more confident, we can revive him.
🗣 Bruno Genesio on Toko Ekambi: “He’s a player we’ve targeted, he fills in a lot of boxes that correspond to what we’re looking for. Yes, we spoke with him and yes, he wants to come. has made good progress, after that we are not alone.” #rmclive pic.twitter.com/KUqKR3rQ9O

Before taking stock of the progress of the file: “Yes, yes (we spoke with him, and yes he wants to come). There is good progress, after that we are not the only ones”.
Karl Toko Ekambi would actually be courted by a Saudi club, Al Shabab.
Dembélé refuses an English club
Often relegated to the bench because of competition from Alexandre Lacazette, Moussa Dembélé (26) has, like Karl Toko Ekambi, questioned his future in recent weeks. According to Foot Mercato, the former Celtic striker is popular in England, where Everton thought of him. The British club has even started discussions with the entourage of Moussa Dembélé.
But the dismissal of Frank Lampard from his role as Toffees manager has chilled the player and his clan, seduced by the prospect of being managed by the former Chelsea midfielder. As things stand, going to the 19th in the Premier League hardly enchants Moussa Dembélé, while other English clubs, such as Aston Villa, are interested in the French striker, at the end of his contract with OL in June 2023.
A free arrival of Moussa Dembélé at the end of the season is particularly hoped for by the Hammers.
