Oliver Kahn, Managing Director of Bayern Munich, believes Thomas Tuchel has proven himself as a top manager, citing his experience in charge of Paris Saint-Germain.
Tuchel was appointed Bayern coach this week following the dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann by the Bundesliga club. The 49-year-old Tuchel has managed Borussia Dortmund, PSG and Chelsea, winning trophies with all three clubs. He led PSG to the Champions League final in 2020, a feat the big-money French club failed to replicate, while also lifting the trophy with Chelsea.

During his unveiling, Kahn referred to the near-constant turmoil at the Parc des Princes between coaches, players and senior management, saying he is impressed with the way Tuchel has led PSG.
“There is no need to discuss his qualities, they are impressive”, Kahn said at a press conference. ” His career also testifies to this. Leading a team like PSG is not easy. He led them to the Champions League final. At Chelsea, too, he worked successfully from day one. That’s an impressive resume. There is always personal development behind it all. This is why we are very happy that Thomas Tuchel has become our coach”.
Not easy to coach PSG
Bayern knocked PSG out of the Champions League this season, winning 3-0 on aggregate, before Nagelsmann was dismissed. Tuchel has been tasked with taking Bayern further in the competition as they face Manchester City in the quarter-finals, while being in contention to win the Bundesliga.
