Rashford – with 27 United goals now to his name this term – earned a 47 per cent majority share of the voting, beating Casemiro and Facundo Pellistri to the award, who had a 15 per cent and 10 per cent share, respectively.

After a tricky first half that ended level, in which both sides had opportunities to open the scoring, Rashford and his team-mates came out of the blocks quickly after the half-time restart.
