Manchester United are clearly not shopping around for midfield filler. The latest report suggests they are aiming much higher, with Aurelien Tchouameni emerging as a serious target as INEOS continue their summer rebuild. According to Dean Jones at Flashscore, the Real Madrid midfielder is open to the move, provided one key condition is met.
That condition matters. “We understand the player is open to joining United if he is told he is no longer wanted at Real Madrid.” It is a sensible stance from Tchouameni. He is 26, established at elite level and not the type of player who needs to force chaos for the sake of a transfer. If Madrid indicate he is expendable, then the conversation changes quickly.
From United’s point of view, this is exactly the calibre of move that would tell everyone the midfield reset is real. The club’s plan has been obvious for weeks, they want three central midfield additions.
