Her wildest dreams! Taylor Swift marries Travis Kelce in ‘moving’ ceremony where the bride wore Dior and walked down the aisle to one of her own songs… before partying the night away at Madison Square Garden

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially husband and wife.  

After months of teases, rumors and conflicting reports, the couple finally married in front of 1,000 of their closest friends – and the world’s biggest stars – in a colossal blowout at Madison Square Garden on Friday. 

They kept fans guessing until the very end, refusing to confirm when exactly they would say ‘I Do’, or indeed, if they already had. 

But at exactly 7.30pm, the couple shared the news in blockbuster style, lighting up the iconic music venue with video ads which read ‘JUST&T MARRIED!’, in a romantic nod to their shared initials. 

Both the bride and groom were dressed in Christian Dior, her publicist later announced. 

Guests have since gushed over the ‘epic, great and life changing’ ceremony, with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos joking: ‘Who knew Madison Square Garden could be so intimate?’ 

Kelce’s uncle, Don Blalock and wife Joan Bender Rice, arrived back at the Ritz around 1.15am, with Rice hailing the wedding as ‘fantastic!’  

Adam Sandler was the officiant, and delighted the crowd with a ‘funny’ and ‘touching’ service. 

‘It was very funny, quite a long speech. I think everyone had a good time,’ he said.

There were no bridesmaids, instead, Taylor’s brother Austin acted as her ‘man of honor’, and Travis’s brother Jason was the best man. 

Jason’s daughters were the flower girls, tossing petals at Taylor’s feet as she made her way down the aisle with a string quartet playing one of her own songs as she made her entrance. 

The theme inside Madison Square Gardens was an old-fashioned fairground, with guests given a turn on mechanical slot and pinball machines. 

Each of the 1,000 – including A-list actress Julia Roberts – was given a ticket during the celebrations, one of which was selected to win a major prize. 

After the ceremony came an elegant dinner – before an Alice in Wonderland meets Wizard of Oz themed party on the lower level of the venue. 

During the reception, Sir Paul McCartney was the surprise highlight, as the former Beatle stunned the crowd when he came onto the stage and sang I Want to Hold Your Hand.

McCartney’s presence and performance had been kept a complete secret and in having McCartney – hailed as one of the key geniuses behind the birth of modern pop music – as her wedding singer, Swift has pulled off an astonishing coup.

A guest at the wedding said that the festivities were spectacular and at an unprecedented scale. 

At one point, American football star Kelce even had a try at joining in the singing himself. 

There were a number of performers aside from McCartney, who has had a home in the Hamptons for decades.

As well as a dinner there were food stations around the venue so that guests could top up on food, with one saying that there was some ‘chaos’ around them.

The guest list was a dazzling array of the world’s biggest stars. 

Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham and Dakota Johnson were among the bride’s closest friends there. 

Steven Spielberg was also in attendance, and Beyonce and Jay Z are also understood to have attended.  

There was also Brad Pitt, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Hugh Grant, Graham Norton, Jessica Alba, Tom Brady, Chris Rock and almost every NFL player imaginable. 

The guest list also included Graham Norton, Ethan Hawke, Nelly, Andrew Scott, Ice Spice, Kareem Hunt and Laura Dern.

They all arrived at MSG in air-conditioned SUVs, while an army of NYPD officers and fans sweated it out on the streets amid suffocating, 100 degree temperatures.

Eagle-eyed fans clocked some surprise guests and notable absences. 

Karlie Kloss, once known as one of Swift’s closest friends, attended with her husband Joshua Kushner. 

Swift did not attend Kloss’s 2019 wedding after the pair had a rumored feud over the model’s close bond with the singer’s nemesis Scooter Braun.

Her inclusion on the guest list appeared to signal the pair had patched up their relationship. 

However, there was no sign of Swift’s longtime pal Blake Lively, with whom the pop star had a purported falling out over her inclusion in the movie star’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni. 

Meanwhile, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker was said to have been intentionally left off the wedding guest list by the couple, while every other player on Kelce’s team was said to be in attendance.

The blockbuster bash kicked off at around 3.30pm, when the first in a fleet of 500 chauffeur-driven cars arrived at the iconic Manhattan venue. 

There was a steady stream of stars throughout the afternoon, each making their way into the arena via a tunnel that shielded them from public view. 

Swift and Kelce made their entrance at 5pm, according to planning permits obtained by New York City officials. 

The couple’s marriage was publicly announced by MSG and Paine at 7.30pm. The Empire State Building also lit up in blue to celebrate the wedding.

Dozens of stars fled the venue before midnight struck, despite the celebrations scheduled to go on until at least 4am.

Brady, George Stephanopoulos, Chris Rock, Hugh Grant, Steven Spielberg, Jessica Alba and Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid were among those who called it quits early.

Other celebrities stayed on much later.

Singer Fergie and Dita Von Teese, ‘the Queen of Burlesque,’ arrived back at the Ritz just after 2am.

Both women rushed inside the hotel and refused to answer questions.

But in an extraordinary moment, Von Teese came back outside and posed for the cameras in an exquisite white and cream flowing gown with appliqué detailing and 3D flowers on the shoulder.

She refused to answer questions, telling reporters: ‘I signed an NDA.’

Another returning wedding guest, Andrew Whitworth, an NFL broadcaster, hailed the celebration ‘a great night.’ 

Elsewhere, Robert Allen, Swift’s longtime tour manager, returned to the hotel but was predictably tightlipped when quizzed by reporters.

Swift’s publicist Tree Paine and her childhood best friend Abigail Anderson Berard arrived back at the Ritz together with their partners in one of several blacked-out buses after the wedding.

The quartet refused to say anything as they were swept into the building.

Rapper Lil Dicky, a staunch Tayvis supporter, had his work cut out for him as he helped his wife get into their hotel.

Kristin Batalucco struggled to walk straight as her hubby put an arm around her shoulder and helped her towards the door.

They were quickly followed by actor Donald Glover and his wife Michelle White, who quickly dashed inside. 

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt appeared very much worse for wear when he exited a NYC yellow cab barefoot clutching his shoes in one hand.

The bleary-eyed sportsman seemed in no mood to talk, cheekily quipping that ‘he didn’t go’ when asked about the wedding.  

Former NFL tight-end Greg Olsen returned to the Ritz, followed shortly by ex quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick shortly after 3am.

Asked about the wedding and Swift’s dress, he said both were ‘wonderful.’

Meanwhile, Graham Norton was heard yelling out that the wedding was ‘great’ as he staggered into his hotel in Tribeca in the wee hours of Saturday.

The Irish talk show host clutched a bottle of water, looking bleary eyed as he came back from partying for almost 12 hours.

However, he was without his husband, Jono McLeod, despite the pair jetting into NYC together on Wednesday afternoon.

Kelce’s football star colleagues were some of the last to return to their hotel after partying into the small hours.

And some were keener than others to soak up the evening’s excesses.

New York Giants wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was snacking on a pizza slice and a soda as he and wife Lauren sauntered into their hotel.

They followed Kansas City Chiefs player Mitch Schwartz who arrived back with wife Brooke, clutching what appeared to be a bottle of water.

Charissa Thompson, the woman who helped broker the ‘Love Story’ between Swift and Kelce said everything ‘looked great’ when asked about the wedding on her return to the hotel just before 3.30am.

Former quarterback Matthew Stafford, still looking dapper in a forest green suit, arrived back at the hotel at a similar time.

In the wee hours of Saturday morning, Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Theaters, who was purportedly in attendance tweeted – and then deleted – details about the nuptials. 

Aron described Swift and Kelce’s wedding vows as ‘long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations by each as to how they met, why they want to be with each other for all eternity, the promises they made in joining their much-beloved two whole families as one, and committing to their new mutual life together.’

He added of the decor inside MSG: ‘It did not look like Madison Square Garden. Immediately upon entry, everything… floors, walls, ceilings… was draped in peach and white. Large blown up pictures of Taylor and Travis at each age, year by year from one year-old to late teenager-hood, were on display. A small portion of MSG was cordoned off, devoid of any notion that that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space. Somehow magically, someone created an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat. Everything draped off this time in green and white. Real flowers and I think artificial trees welcomed fifteen rows of maybe 75 or so chairs. They say there were around one thousand attendees, but surprisingly, it all felt intimate and small. Everything was close.’  

The event is believed to have been a mind-blowing stream of surprises and musical performances, though with every guest required to sign an NDA before even receiving their invitations, the details remain unusually scarce. 

There were some clues in the boatload of deliveries at MSG throughout the week. 

Swift’s crews had been preparing for days, bringing in lavish food and elaborate sets for what appears to have been a fairytale, secret-garden-themed spectacle. 

There were rumors of a castle being constructed inside the venue, a possible ode to her 2008 Love Story music video, in which she portrayed a modern-day Juliet, waiting for her Romeo. 

There were forests of trees, thousands of peach and pink roses, and even what looked like bed frames being hauled into the arena throughout. 

As for the food, deliveries from the likes of Sartiano’s – a trendy Manhattan eatery the pair frequent – and Krispy Kreme were spotted arriving at the venue earlier in the week. 

Fans were disappointed by the lack of photographs. 

But their appetite for gossip and pictures will soon be satiated: Swift, we have learned, filmed the entire weekend. 

It remains unclear where the footage will emerge, whether on one of her tightly run social media accounts or in a big, splashy streaming-service documentary.

Friday’s wedding was the crescendo in a dizzying series of events. 

To kick off the party on Thursday night, Swift and Kelce hosted a more intimate, private event for 100 of their closest friends and family. 

Dan Wakeford’s Celebrity Intelligence reports that guests were served family-style, and dined on a selection the bride chose herself from the Italian restaurant Sartiano’s. 

‘The spread leaned into the restaurant’s Italian strengths rather than anything fussy or overly bridal. 

‘The source described the evening as relaxed and warm, more supper club than formal banquet,’ he writes. 

The entire two-day extravaganza is said to have cost the couple at least $15 million.

An insider told The New York Times it cost the couple between $1.2 million and $1.6 million to book out Madison Square Garden for two days.

Insurance would cost over $10,000, Erica Maurer, a partner at EMRG Media, told the newspaper.

Lighting, sound, catering, flowers, decorations and labor could cost between $10 million and $12 million, The Times suggested, adding that its estimate was very conservative. 

Permit fees for the two-day affair would likely cost at least $132,000 based on the city’s permitting office rates.

It would also cost taxpayers over $1 million to have hundreds of police officers providing security and patrolling MSG.

Ahead of their wedding, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to 20 charities. 

Weddings have been a constant subject in Swift’s songs since she was a teenager, and her actually walking the aisle for the first time at age 36 adds to the drama. 

The couple’s Love Story began three years ago this week, when Kelce first laid eyes on the songstress at her Kansas City Eras Tour concert on July 8, 2023. 

The Chiefs tight end tried to meet Swift that evening, bringing along a friendship bracelet that contained his phone number. However, his attempt at handing her the jewelry was unsuccessful.

Kelce subsequently shared the story on his New Heights podcast, which attracted Swift’s attention. 

The 14-time Grammy winner has since revealed that she was moved by the gesture, saying it felt like she was ‘in an ’80s John Hughes movie, and he was standing outside of my window with a boombox saying, “I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet! Do you want to date me?”‘

She added: ‘I was like, “If this guy’s not crazy, which is a big if, but if he’s not crazy, then this is basically every song I’ve ever written since I was a teenager come to life.”‘

Soon after, Swift and Kelce met in person and started dating, instantly enamored with each other. 

Their romance moved fast, with the Fearless crooner quickly becoming a staple at Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs games, cheering on her new boyfriend and bringing millions of new viewers to the NFL. 

Swift sometimes brought along old friends like Selena Gomez and Blake Lively, and she adopted new pals, including fellow WAG Brittany Mahomes, and even Kelce’s mother Donna. 

Glimpses of Swift, who instantly became the world’s most famous WAG, were fodder for fans. The pop sensation was present when her then-boyfriend stormed to Super Bowl victory in 2024.

Details of the nuptials were shrouded in secrecy since that day, with scant details leaking to the press.  

Many Swifties speculated that the singer’s Rhode Island mansion would be the venue for the wedding, with various dates floated online.

In recent weeks, however, rumors that the ceremony would be held inside Manhattan’s Madison Square Garden over the July 4 weekend intensified. 

An insider informed the Daily Mail that Swift and Kelce had embraced the idea of a ‘spectacle’ wedding and selected the stadium as their venue. 

News broke last week that a local event planning company had filed for permits to close the streets around the arena from July 2 to midday July 4, requesting sufficient space for trucks, canopies and tents.

New York City Hall confirmed the permit application and indicated that the event would include between 500 and 999 attendees.

Meanwhile, Michael Rubin, the sports merch tycoon famed for his Fourth of July parties in the Hamptons, moved the date of his bash to July 1 this year, suggesting some celebs would instead be spending the long weekend in New York City for Swift and Kelce’s celebrations. 

Swift’s romantic life has long been the subject of widespread interest among fans and the public at large, fueled by her hit songs detailing her dalliances. 

The singer’s first headline-hitting relationship was with Joe Jonas way back in 2008, before she was linked to actor Taylor Lautner the following year. 

Swift’s track Back To December was reportedly inspired by her romance with the Twilight star, which flamed out after just three months. 

She subsequently embarked on a short romance with rocker John Mayer, which resulted in the creation of her anthem Dear John, featured on her third album Speak Now. 

Meanwhile, Swift is widely rumored to have lost her virginity to Brokeback Mountain actor Jake Gyllenhaal, whom she dated in 2010. 

The brutal break-up is said to have served as fodder for All Too Well, one of the singer’s biggest songs of all time. 

Harry Styles, Calvin Harris and Conor Kennedy, the son of HHS Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, all also dated Swift in the early 2010s. 

She additionally had a high-profile romance with British actor Tom Hiddleston in mid-to-late 2016. 

Swift’s longest relationship was with Joe Alwyn, another UK actor, whom she was with for nearly six years, from 2017 to 2023.

Kelce, for his part, has a less-colorful romantic past than Swift. The tight end dated broadcaster and content creator Kayla Nicole on and off for five years before their split in 2022.
