Aston Villa’s recruitment department appear to be moving with clear intent, with Roma forward Matias Soulé now firmly in focus.
Gazzetta Dello Sport report that “Aston Villa in the last few hours has intensified the pressure for Soulé”, a line that will naturally catch attention across both Birmingham and Rome.
The context matters. Roma have now completed their obligation to buy Donyell Malen after European qualification was secured. As reported, “Aston Villa will receive €25million after the €2million for the loan and 10% of the future resale.”
That incoming money could help Villa reshape their attacking options, and Soulé looks like a profile that fits the modern Premier League market.
Soulé Fee Could Tempt Roma
Roma’s position is delicate. Soulé is talented, young and technically gifted, but Gazzetta claim that “in the face of an offer of €40million, Roma could let him go”.
That figure is significant because the report adds Roma would record “a capital gain of about 25 million”. For a Serie A club balancing ambition with financial realities, that could prove persuasive.
Soulé is also said to be attracted by England, with the report stating: “The Premier League attracts him a lot.” That detail feels important. Villa are not simply chasing a player with no interest in the move, there appears to be a potential pathway.
