Anthony Gordon transfer talks with Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern

Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has reportedly held meetings with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea, as well as Bayern Munich.

The England international looks increasingly likely to leave St James’ Park this summer, with Bayern already offering him a five-year contract, according to Christian Falk.

Writing in his latest CF Bayern Insider column, Falk explained that Gordon is also wanted by Premier League clubs, and that Bayern might still struggle to afford the deal if it ends up costing as much as £80m.

This follows Fabrizio Romano recently reporting on his YouTube channel that Gordon has “serious chances” of leaving Newcastle this summer.

It seems hard to predict precisely where Gordon will end up this summer, even if his future surely lies away from Newcastle.

The 25-year-old has impressed during his time with Magpies, scoring 39 goals in 152 appearances since joining from Everton.

After a dip in form from Newcastle this season, it surely makes sense for Gordon to explore a possible move to a higher level, and that could still mean there’s hope for the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.

“Anthony Gordon is at the top of the wishlist. But the transfer fee remains a problem. If we’re looking at £80m – that’s a lot of money for Bayern Munich,” Falk said.
