Multiple people injured in shooting near Arcadia Lake campground in Oklahoma as emergency services swarm area


Multiple people have been injured in a shooting near Arcadia Lake in Oklahoma, where emergency services were seen swarming the area on Sunday night. 

Videos posted online showed ambulances and police cruisers at the scene, with troopers decked out in full tactical gear as they responded to the shooting.

Edmond police confirmed to KOCO there was a shooting east of East 15th Street near Arcadia Lake at around 9.30pm.

Police also told KFOR that the shots fired calls likely originated from the Caddo Pavilion at the campground.

When officers then arrived at the scene, they found four people with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle near East 15th Street and Timberlake Avenue, as those on the scene said that several people they know were shot, according to News 9. 

Witnesses have also reported hearing more than 30 shots fired. 

Authorities have not yet confirmed how many people were shot in the incident and the conditions of the victims.

A ‘Sunday Funday’ event had been scheduled at the Scissortail Campground near Arcadia Lake, which is believed to be the same location as the mass shooting. 

It promised ‘good vibes, good people, food and drinks’ and ‘music all night’ from 6pm to 12am Monday. 

It is unclear whether the event may be related to the shooting.
