Journalist David Ornstein has delivered a definitive blow to Arsenal’s summer transfer hopes, revealing there is “no chance” of the Gunners securing the signature of PSG star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Speaking during a fan Q&A on The Athletic website (subscription required) on Thursday, Ornstein addressed the growing speculation linking Mikel Arteta’s side with the 25-year-old winger.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia unlikely to join Arsenal
Despite Arsenal’s desire to bolster their attacking options following a season that has seen them reach the Champions League semi-finals and challenge for the Premier League title, a move for the Georgian international appears completely off the table.
“Everyone loves Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but I fully expect him to stay at PSG,” Ornstein wrote, quelling the rumors that had excited the North London faithful.
“He seems extremely happy there, and they are certainly extremely happy with him. I don’t think Arsenal or anyone else has a chance at the moment.”
The update comes as a disappointment to those who viewed Kvaratskhelia as the final piece of Arteta’s offensive puzzle.
Since joining PSG from Napoli in January 2025 for €80 million, Kvaratskhelia has become an indispensable figure for Luis Enrique.
His direct style and technical brilliance were on full display during the recent Champions League quarter-final win over Liverpool, where he scored in the first leg to help dismantle the Reds.
Plenty of interest from Premier League for Kvaratskhelia
Arsenal are far from the only Premier League club to have registered an interest. Liverpool have been long-term admirers, with the Reds reportedly considering a hijack attempt shortly before his move to Paris.
Their interest in the versatile attacker remains, with Ben Jacobs recently reporting that the Reds have a genuine appreciation towards the 25-year-old.
