Tim Bradley sees one winner in Crawford vs Canelo rematch after Mbilli win: “He’ll spank him”

Tim Bradley believes one man would cruise to a dominant victory if Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford end up squaring off in a rematch.

The pair locked horns in September 2025, with Crawford moving up two weight classes to dethrone his bigger opponent with a unanimous decision victory.

In doing so, he became a three-division undisputed king before announcing his retirement and, in turn, relinquishing all four super-middleweight belts a few months later.

Christian Mbilli was then upgraded from ‘interim’ to full WBC champion and, as a result, Canelo had the chance to reclaim one of his world titles last Saturday.

And while some favoured Mbilli to pull off the upset, Canelo ultimately controlled most of their contest and claimed a convincing unanimous decision victory.

Yet despite the 36-year-old coming off such a measured performance, Hall of Famer Bradley has said on his YouTube channel that Crawford, even after the long layoff, would handle the Mexican with ease if he chooses to come out of retirement.

“If Terence Crawford did say he would come back and do one more and it was gonna be against Canelo Alvarez, Imma tell you all right now: if Terence Crawford comes back and faces Canelo Alvarez – this form of Canelo Alvarez we saw [against Mbilli] – he will spank him even more [than he did the first time].

“He will beat Canelo the second time easier than [he did] the first time. You have to understand that styles make fights.

“Canelo can move, and box, and try to be slick. But Terence can hunt. Terence can play the patient game with Canelo, too.”

Bradley also highlighted the five-inch reach advantage of Crawford, while suggesting that Canelo is less effective when he is made to come forward.
