Liverpool interested in signing Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki

Liverpool made some crucial signings in the summer transfer window but their lack of investment in midfielders was a surprise, especially with doubts over Alexis Mac Allister’s future at the club and Andoni Iraola’s inclination towards high intensity players.

Following a strong start to life under the former Bournemouth manager, the Reds are now planning to improve their depth and quality in the engine room as the board has already started chalking up plans for investments in 2027.

Ekrem Konur has reported that Liverpool have added Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki to their shortlist of targets for next year. The 21-year-old is one of the Premier League side’s most promising midfielders, and is valued at £33 million.

Good long-term purchase for Liverpool

While Alexis Mac Allister has been in good form this season, it remains to be seen whether he will extend his contract at Liverpool, and with Ryan Gravenberch also low in the pecking order, Noah Sadiki would be a good long-term investment.

Sadiki has a strong physique and can dominate duels in the engine room. His stamina and work-rate means the 21-year-old can efficiently fill gaps in the middle of the park, and combines it with his intelligent reading of the game to regain the ball.

In possession, he is able to carry the ball between the lines higher up the pitch and also exchanges passes well with his teammates to make space. His press resistance, speed and work-rate would make him a brilliant fit in Andoni Iraola’s setup.

Considering their ongoing relegation battle, Sunderland might not be ready to part ways with the Congolese international midway through the season in January but next summer, Liverpool may have a strong chance at signing him.

It remains to be seen where Noah Sadiki ranks on the Reds’ shortlist of midfielders, which is also believed to have the likes of Lamine Camara and Martin Zubimendi.
