According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal remain keen on signing Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi during the winter transfer window.
The Gunners were credited with an interest in the 22-year-old earlier this year, but the club did not proceed with a formal approach. Arsenal signed winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge last summer, but no proposal was made for Tresoldi.
This has not ended the speculation regarding the German’s future. Plettenberg claims that Arsenal and other top clubs are still keen on landing the talented centre-forward, and a January transfer can’t be ruled out for the Brugge ace.
Barcelona were previously keen on landing his services last summer, but were put off by Brugge’s £42 million valuation.

Tresoldi netted 23 goals and provided 9 assists in 58 appearances for Brugge in his debut campaign last term. He has had a much better start to the 2026/27 season with 12 goals scored in just 14 appearances for the reigning Belgian champions.
This has included a couple of hat-tricks including one against Inter Milan in a 4-3 Champions League thriller. Apart from his goalscoring exploits, Tresoldi has impressed with his hold-up play and aerial presence in and around the box.

The Gunners would ideally want a marquee acquisition for the number nine role, but could be tempted to pursue Tresoldi’s signature if he continues to impress particularly in the remaining league phase games in the Champions League.
It may also require a high-profile exit to compensate for the outlay made. Viktor Gyokeres has been a fringe player in the Premier League this term with just one start and another striker’s arrival could pave the way for his departure from the Gunners.
The Premier League holders generally prefer to wait until the summer for big-money signings, and it remains to be seen whether the hierarchy change that stance and spend big on a fresh attacking…
