A young woman was caught on CCTV apparently stealing a table lamp from a bar after slipping it into her bag.
Footage shows the customer taking a quick look round before swiping the ornament from the table at Krak Matlock in Derbyshire.
She discreetly shoves the lamp into her bag before nonchalantly returning to her conversation with two other customers opposite.
The bar shared footage of the incident online, which has since been viewed more than six million times, in a bid to locate the alleged thief.
A spokesman said: ‘Seems we’ve lost one of our new table lamps. Whilst on the hunt to find it we came across this footage of a lovely lady misplacing it!
‘Does anybody know how we could get in touch with the lady to get this back as one of our tables are in complete darkness.
‘Please message our page with her name so we could contact her or even better please could you drop us a message to let us know when we can receive our property!’
Commenting under the video, one person said: ‘That’s what you call a light touch.’

Another added: ‘Good that this place is shining a light on this situation.’
But a third said: ‘There were too many and she fixed it.’
Krak Matlock is described as a European style bar on Dale Road in Matlock.
The German-themed venue opened its doors in August and serves drinks including Schofferhofer grapefruit wheat beer, Budvar, Pardal and Brinkhoff’s.
A similar incident took place two years ago in December at a restaurant in Whitefield, Greater Manchester.
Campo Blanco uploaded CCTV footage to social media which appeared to show a diner leaning over the table during their meal and picking up a small battery powered light.
Posting about the incident online, the venue said: ‘We love our new table lights too. We actually can’t get them anymore as they’ve stopped making them so please bring them back. Also, they aren’t yours!
‘You have until Christmas Eve to return them with no questions asked. If not, we will tell Santa to put you on the naughty list. And by Santa, we mean The Police. Cheers. Merry Christmas.’
