Hosted by veteran court reporters Caroline Cheetham and Liz Hull, The Brand Breakdown will get you up to speed on all the claims and counter-claims as the case unfolds.
Comedian, actor and wellness guru Brand, 51, faces three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault relating to alleged offences against six women between 1999 and 2009, all of which he denies.
Week two saw four more women give evidence, including a TV worker who alleged Brand orally raped her in a bar toilet in 2004, and a radio station employee who claimed he assaulted her in front of his entourage.Â
A fan said he anally raped her at his London home in 2009, while a Channel 4 worker alleged he lay his head in her lap and demanded a massage.
In cross-examination, Ian Winter KC suggested one accuser could easily have fought back and pressed another on why she hadn’t come forward at the time.Â
Every week, the Daily Mail’s award-winning Trial team rounds up the key moments from Russell Brand’s rape trial at Southwark Crown Court
Friends and family of the 2009 complainant described her as ‘extremely distressed’ afterwards. Brand’s defence opens next week.
