Zab Judah delivers honest verdict on potential Terence Crawford vs Jaron Ennis fight

Zab Judah has dismissed the idea of a competitive bout unfolding between Terence Crawford and Jaron Ennis, whose potential encounter is seen by many as one of the most intriguing fights that could be made.

In order for it to become realistic, Crawford would need to step out of retirement and agree to enter his first outing since September 2025.

Back then, the American moved up two weight divisions and dethroned Canelo Alvarez, unanimously outpointing his man for the four major titles at 168lbs.

Having become a three-weight undisputed king, he then announced his retirement a few months later and called time on a Hall of Fame-worthy career.

Since then, though, Crawford has repeatedly been linked to a fight with Ennis, who dethroned Xander Zayas with a seventh-round stoppage in June.

As a result, the American became a two-weight unified champion by claiming the WBO and WBA titles, with his next assignment expected to be a unification match with IBF champion Josh Kelly in early 2027.

Speaking with Fight Hub TV, meanwhile, former two-weight world champion Judah has urged Ennis to ignore Crawford and resume his pursuit of undisputed status.

“I don’t want to see it. I’d like to see Jaron Boots Ennis stay in his lane. Crawford is a class ahead of [Ennis]. [It’s] like being in the fifth grade and trying to mess with seventh graders.

“That’s not your grade … stay in your class, with your guys, and dominate there. If you’re the greatest and the best there, so be it.”

If he defeats Kelly, who he is set to face in January, then Ennis could target WBC champion Sebastian Fundora for an undisputed super-welterweight showdown.
