Derek Chisora names the heavyweight who will end Oleksandr Usyk’s unbeaten run: “He’ll KO him”

Derek Chisora believes there is one man out there capable of knocking out Oleksandr Usyk inside five rounds.

After vacating his unified world heavyweight titles earlier this year, Usyk stated he plans on having one final fight before retiring from the sport.

He has been linked to a number of opponents for that farewell bout, one of them being former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Alongside Tyson Fury, Chisora is the only other fighter to have fought both Usyk and Wilder, with his bout against the Ukrainian ending in a unanimous decision defeat in 2020, while he was beaten by split decision against ‘The Bronze Bomber’ back in April.

It means Chisora is perhaps best suited to predict how a possible clash between Usyk and Wilder will go, and speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, he backed ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to secure a dramatic knockout win in the first half of the contest.

“I put my money on Wilder to knock him out. Usyk is going to get laid out because that motherf***er can hit. Usyk is going to get laid out and I will give it five rounds. Five rounds he will be on the floor.”

Any hopes of seeing the contest may be over though, after it was recently reported that talks for the contest were ‘dead.’

Instead, it is claimed that Wilder is in negotiations for a heavyweight bout against unbeaten cruiserweight star Jai Opetaia on the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua card in December.

It means that the Ukrainian seemingly has to look elsewhere for his final opponent, with that farewell bout expected to take place at some point in early 2027.
