According to Teamtalk, Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis following his impressive start to his career with Hull City this season.
The Greece international signed for the Tigers for an initial £20 million from Olympiacos and he has proved a wonderful acquisition for them with some tremendous performances in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old’s progress has caught the eye of many elite European clubs and it is claimed that Spurs are also admirers of him despite handing a new long-term contract to Antonin Kinsky this summer.
A section of Spurs’ hierarchy are not convinced about the Czechia goalkeeper and it is reported that they are hatching up a plan to replace him at the end of the ongoing campaign. Tzolakis is a top name on their radar.
Possible deal
Kinsky had a tough phase in his Spurs career last season. Under interim manager Igor Tudor, he made several high-profile errors in the Champions League round of 16 first leg against Atletico Madrid away from home.
It looked like he may have played his final game for the club, but he managed to make amends under manager Roberto De Zerbi towards the end of the campaign, capitalising on the injury woes of Guglielmo Vicario in the run-in.
Vicario was eventually loaned out to Juventus this summer after Kinsky became the priority goalkeeper, but the 23-year-old has been inconsistent in the early part of the campaign with a save success rate of only 60%.
In comparison, Tzolakis has been in the form of his life since moving to the English top-flight from Greece. He has made an impressive 3.4 saves per game with a success rate of 81%, which has been key to Hull’s strong start.
Hull find themselves eighth in the table with 8 points on the board, and will no doubt be keen to keep hold of Tzolakis’ services for as long as possible. A mid-season exit can be ruled out, given their push to stay in the division.
