Strength remains one of the most valuable attributes in Premier League football. It helps centre-backs control powerful forwards, enables midfielders to protect possession and allows strikers to compete while surrounded by defenders.
Unlike height and top speed, however, physical strength is not measured through a single publicly available Premier League statistic. There is no official bench-press table or definitive strength rating for every player.
The following ranking is therefore an informed estimate, based on a combination of physique, reported height and weight, upper-body power, balance, performance in physical duels, ability to protect the ball and evidence from Premier League matches.
It is a ranking of functional football strength, not simply gym strength or body size.

Erling Haaland is arguably the strongest player in the Premier League.
The Manchester City striker combines exceptional height, muscular power and explosive acceleration. That combination makes him extremely difficult to contain once he begins moving towards goal.
Haaland’s strength is especially apparent when he is running alongside a defender. He can absorb shoulder-to-shoulder contact without being forced away from the ball, maintain his stride and finish while under pressure.
His power also helps him establish position inside the penalty area. Centre-backs frequently attempt to disrupt him before a cross or pass arrives, but Haaland can hold his ground and create the separation required to shoot.
What separates him from many physically imposing forwards is his speed. Strong players are not always quick, while fast players do not always possess the power to withstand contact. Haaland operates at the extreme end of both categories.
