Catamo, 25, has already featured prominently in recruitment discussions in England and there is a growing sense that his name will return to the market in a serious way if Sporting CP show any flexibility on their current demands. For now, that stance remains clear. The Portuguese club wanted his “€60million (£51m / $69m) release clause in full” during the summer, and that proved beyond Sunderland when the newly promoted side pushed hard to land him.
