How Much Revenue Do Premier League Clubs Generate?

The Premier League is the richest domestic football competition in the world. Its clubs collectively generate billions of pounds every season through broadcasting agreements, sponsorships, ticket sales, hospitality, merchandise and participation in European competitions.

During the 2024/25 season, Premier League clubs generated approximately £6.8 billion in combined revenue, an increase of around eight per cent on the previous campaign. Annual revenue is expected to move beyond £7 billion as new broadcasting agreements, larger commercial partnerships and expanded international competitions provide further opportunities for growth.

However, that money is not distributed evenly. The largest clubs can generate more than four times as much revenue as smaller or newly promoted teams.

The Premier League’s Highest-Earning Clubs

At the top of the financial table are the Premier League’s global superclubs. These organisations have enormous international audiences, lucrative sponsorship agreements, large stadiums and regular access to European competition.

Based on the latest broadly comparable financial information, the highest-earning current Premier League clubs include:

Liverpool: Approximately €836 million

Manchester City: Approximately €829 million

Arsenal: Approximately €822 million

Manchester United: Approximately €793 million

Tottenham Hotspur: Approximately €673 million

Chelsea: Approximately €584 million

Aston Villa: Approximately €450 million

Newcastle United: Approximately €398 million

These figures relate to football revenue rather than profit or total cash received. They generally include matchday, broadcasting and commercial income but exclude money raised through player sales.

Club accounts are published at different times and may cover slightly different accounting periods. Currency conversions can also affect comparisons, so the figures are best viewed as a guide to the financial scale of each club rather than a perfectly precise league table.
