Leeds United keen on move to sign £40m-rated Chelsea star

Leeds United have entered the market for a new striker, with Give Me Sport reporting that the newly promoted side are now in the race to sign Chelsea forward Liam Delap before the summer window closes.

The development comes at a useful moment for Leeds, who are reshaping their attack after Joel Piroe’s move to West Ham this week. Recruitment in that area has clearly become a priority, and Delap is emerging as one of the more intriguing names under consideration.

According to the report, “Leeds have now entered the race to sign Chelsea striker Liam Delap in the summer transfer window, but they face competition for his signature.” Nottingham Forest and Everton are also in the picture, which points to a competitive situation for a player still viewed as having considerable upside.

Delap only arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer after Chelsea triggered his release clause following Ipswich Town’s relegation.
